Disable hibernate (Windows 7)

To disable hibernate (and delete hyberfil.sys file), do the following:

Method 1:

1. Open a Elevated Command Prompt.

2. Type powercfg -h off

 

Method 2:

1. Open the Control Panel → Power Options → Change plan settings → Change advanced power settings

2. Expand Sleep Hibernate after.

3. Under Hibernate after, set the Setting (Minutes) to Never.

4. Under Allow hybrid sleep, set Setting to Off.

5. Click Ok to close
